雨の隙間を縫って今年も夏越しの祓へ行ってきました。
ゲストハウスの隣にございます金胎寺さんです。
昨年、出雲大社の真菰神事に奄美大島よりご奉納された古代真菰を、今年は金胎寺に奄美大島在住の方よりご奉納いただいたものです。

夏越しの祓いは半年のうちに知らず知らずに心身に生じた垢や穢を祓い後半に臨むために心新たに無病息災・厄難消除・開運除厄を祈願する行事です。
今年も江戸期建立の弘法大師像をご開帳して茅の輪くぐりも行います。

真菰は気の浄化作用に優れているということで古代より神事や祭事に用いられてきました。お釈迦様は真菰で編んだむしろに病人を寝かせて治療されたと言われております。

We went to the temple for summer purification again this year, with a break in the rain. The temple is located next to the guest house. Last year, the ancient Mannoebi straw mattresses were presented to Kontaiji Temple from Amami Oshima Island for the Mannoemono ritual at Izumo Grand Shrine. This is a gift from a resident. It is said that Mannoetto has been used for Shinto rituals and rituals since ancient times because it is excellent in purifying the soul. It is said that the Buddha cured the sick by putting them to sleep on a woven straw mattress.
