You can stay as your home

アラシマインは、鳥羽の路地の坂を少し上がったところにある2DKのアパートメントを、そのまま一組の宿にしたゲストハウスです。フロントはありません。到着したら玄関の暗証コードを押して、そのまま部屋へ上がってください。誰かの到着を待つ必要も、鍵を返しに寄る手間もありません。

近鉄中之郷駅までは徒歩4分、鳥羽水族館へは歩いて5分ほど。ミキモト真珠島も伊勢湾フェリーのターミナルも歩いて行ける距離で、答志島や神島へ渡る市営定期船の乗り場も遠くありません。朝いちばんの船で島へ渡り、夕方に戻ってくる。そういう一日の組み立て方ができる場所です。

部屋は6畳と4畳半の二間に、キッチンとバス・トイレ。旅館のような設えではありませんが、そのぶん気を遣わずに済みます。食事の時間も門限もありません。AIスピーカーとAndroid TVも置いてありますので、畳に寝転んで、明日はどこへ行こうかと地図を広げる。伊勢志摩を歩くための拠点として、気楽に使っていただければと思います。

Arashima Inn is a two-room apartment part way up a back lane in Toba, turned into a guest house and let to one group at a time. There is no front desk. When you arrive you punch the code into the door lock and let yourself in. Nobody is sitting up waiting for you, and there is no key to bring back.

Kintetsu Nakanogo Station is a two-minute walk away and the Toba Aquarium about five. Mikimoto Pearl Island and the Isewan ferry terminal are both within walking distance, and the municipal boats out to Toshijima and Kamishima leave from close by. Catch an early boat to one of the islands and you can be back before dinner.

Inside there are two tatami rooms, a kitchen and a bath and toilet of your own, along with a smart speaker and an Android TV. This is not a ryokan and does not try to be one, which is rather the point: no set mealtimes, no curfew, nobody hovering. Lie down on the tatami with a map and work out where you are going tomorrow.
